A Star-Spangled Weekend at Reunion
Another unforgettable Fourth of July weekend is in the books! The weekend kicked off Friday evening with our annual Golf Cart Parade. There was an incredible turnout, and our residents certainly didn't disappoint with their creativity. It was the perfect way to begin the holiday weekend.
Friday night's Sounds at Sunset followed at the Village, with a water slide, food trucks and live music. Unfoortunately, a pop-up summer thunderstorm rolled in just before the band was set to perform. While Mother Nature had other plans, we're thankful we were able to enjoy the festivities beforehand and appreciate everyone's patience and positive attitude despite the weather.
Saturday brought one of Reunion's favorite traditions—our annual Suzanne Ellis Memorial Poker Run.
A heartfelt thank you goes to our incredible Poker Run host homes. We simply could not host this event without you. We know the amount of time, money, planning, and volunteers it takes to create an unforgettable stop, and your efforts certainly did not go unnoticed. Thank you for the homemade treats, hot dogs, signature drinks, over-the-top patriotic decorations, water slides, jello shots and the genuine hospitality you shared with every guest. Each stop had its own personality, making the Reunion Poker Run a fun experience for everyone who participated.
We'd also like to thank our volunteer card readers at the Pavilion, who sorted through hundreds of poker hands to determine this year's winners. Your help behind the scenes kept the event running smoothly.
Saturday evening concluded with our annual Drawdown and live music from Mixtape. Beginning at 8:00 p.m., the band had everyone singing and dancing along to favorite '80s hits as the dance floor filled with friends, neighbors, and plenty of confetti. It was the perfect ending to an incredible holiday weekend.
To every volunteer, host home, resident who participated, and of course, Kimberly Neyland—thank you. Events like these don't happen by accident. They happen because so many people generously give their time, talents, and hospitality to create something special for our community. Thank you for making Reunion such a wonderful place to call home. We can't wait to celebrate with everyone again next year!
